Bulus & Rose Galadima
Bulus & Rose, and 1 of their 4 children, are in their native land of Nigeria where they are serving with Entrust 4 Ministries. Bulus is the provost of Jos Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS) and Rose works as a professor there. Their work includes discipling and training young pastors and their wives.
Phone update on Galadimas (3/10/10):
This past Sunday morning (2:30 am), three villages in Jos were attacked by Muslims. It was a band of Muslims who came from out of town but were guided by some on the inside. They fired gunshots and then massacred several hundred Christians. Women and children were targeted. This continued for several hours before the soldiers came to stop it. Some Muslims were arrested as they fled.
A student at JETS lost her whole family in this massacre. Her father, brother, his wife and children were all beheaded (her mother was killed in the January uprising). Families have been terrorized and are paralyzed with fear as they know that the soldiers should have reacted immediately and did not. There is belief that there is a connection between some of the soldiers and Muslims. People do not know who to trust.
This is not ethnic violence. Islamic preaching is happening and they are saying that they will not stop until they take over the land of the Plateau State. It is proven that some are associated with the Al kaeda. This is a religious war.
- Pray that Christian leaders would speak truth BOLDLY, not be “politically correct” in speaking. There is a desperate need for this kind of leadership.
- Pray for wisdom and unity for the Christian leaders to know how to respond as this does not seem to be ending.
- Fear is rampant. Texts continue to spread false alarms and everyone is on high alert. Pray for wisdom to know when the alarms are accurate.
- Pray for strength for Bulus and Rose. The stress is incredible and there is little sleep since night-time is mainly when the attacks happen.
- Rose is going to speak at a women’s conference this weekend. Pray for safety as she goes into a dangerous area. Pray that many would come to Christ and also be strengthened by the Word of God.
- Four students lost everything when their homes were burned. They are continuing with their education at JETS. Pray for the resources for them to finish well.
- Pray that believers would stay strong and encourage one another.
Projects to pray for:
- They are already working on completing the wall that surrounds JETS. Pray that the funds would come in to complete this.
- They would like to build a tornado-like siren that would be in the center of the campus to alert students and the community that there is danger. Pray for the ability to complete this.
- Outreach to the community – students go daily to the displaced people groups and to the areas of massacre to provide food and care to those who have been terrorized. JETS is also doing some spiritual awakening meetings for the community and many are thankful and encouraged by these.
Bulus ended the conversation by saying “The Lord has been good to us. Continue to pray!”

Email report from Bulus and Rose
There have been yet more attacks on innocent people near Jos, Nigeria. The attack occurred around 3 AM on Sunday morning. Guns were fired causing people to come outside to see what was happening, and the villagers were attacked, mostly with machetes. First reports indicate that over 200 men, women and children have lost their lives. The news agencies report a battle over land and political differences.
Beth Marshall, World Outreach coach spoke with Rose on the phone. The Galadimas and everyone at the JETS Seminary are safe. They are awaiting updates on the situation. Rose asked for prayer that the Lord would prevent people from taking revenge, taking the law into their own hands, and that the Lord would give wisdom to the government to know how to handle this situation.
